GUIDE: HOW TO MAKE S10 CRUISE CONTROL A STANDALONE UNIT FOR USE WITH ANY DBC SETUP

GUIDE: HOW TO MAKE S10 CRUISE CONTROL A STANDALONE UNIT FOR USE WITH ANY DBC SETUP ON STANDALONE HARNESS, HOLLEY PCM, OR AFTERMARKET STEERING WHEEL/COLUMN THAT HAS NO BUTTONS! OR WILL WORK WITH ANY VEHICLE WITH A VSS OUTPUT

This guide will be a VERY simple "how to" on making your cruise control box work with just 2 wires and an s10 stalk! This is very useful for standalone for guys with their own harnesses or Holley PCMs. The s10/blazer/Astro Van cruise box is also a VERY popular swap solution for any hotrodder with a DBC LS swap wanting cruise!

NOT complicated at all to do this, you can do it to ANY vehicle that puts out a vss reading basically, as the servo just matches the counts of the VSS and moves a servo a set distance to pull the cable..... Only thing you need to make sure of for an older s10 or other swap is to find your 4000ppm speedo signal. Costs less than $50 to grab the cruise box and everything from the junkyard and wire this up to any vehicle! The cruise box throttle cable hooks to the stock LS throttle body FOR s10/blazer setups.... --Step 1: youll need to splice the VSS output wire from the LS PCM into the cruise module with pin "K" (yellow in this schematic) --Step 2: splice a wire into the brake light activation wire and run it to pin "G" (blue wire in this schematic) --Step 3(optional) run pin "J" from the Cruise module to the PCM cruise activation pin (dotted line in this schematic) THATS IT FOR S10s!

----Custom hotrod standalone application ONLY using the s10/Astro cruise box. Or to use other siwtches on your s10 see below --Step 1-2 are the same as above. --Step 3.... grab an s10 brake light switch from junkyard/parts store --Step 4.... hook Ground to pin "E" and your switches --Step 5....give 12v+ to pin "F" and your cruise buttons and brake light switches --Step 6.... is to grab a GM 4 wire stalk or an s10 cruise stalk... or just some buttons/switches(see below) -----HOW TO USE AFTERMARKET SWITCHES IN ANY CAR

First grab 1-2 momentary buttons, and 1 toggle on/off switch of your choice. These are widely available online and at Radioshack. ---Toggle switch wiring.... -Cruise on/off....tie into pin "F" or IGN on 12v, to the middle pole of the toggle switch, then hook pin "A" from the cruise box to the "on" pole, and leave the "off" pole on the switch empty. ---Momentary switches.... -Set switch... hook the "DK Blue" wire or pin "B" from the cruise box to the open pole, and the closed pole of the switch given 12v IGN on, so it receives a signal when the button is pushed. -Resume/Accel switch...tie into pin "F" or IGN on 12v, then hook to the open pole, then hook the dark green wire or pin "C" from the cruise to the "on" pole.
